Speaking
A passionate advocate on behalf of good books and reading, Shutta is an animated keynote speaker, willing participant of panel discussions, university lecturer, and an energetic workshop leader. In addition, she brings stories to life at fun-filled story hours, and she enjoys providing motivational staff-development presentations for teachers and librarians.
Shutta received the Michigan Library Association, Children’s Services Division, Award of Merit in 2002, as Michigan’s Youth Librarian of the Year. In 2005 she was invited to read at the White House Easter Egg Roll, and in 2010 she presented at schools and libraries on American military bases across Japan.
